Culture translated into Japanese, and the whole Japanese site now navigates in Japanese

Two things shipped this week:

文化・歴史 is now translated

The Culture department hub and three core guides are now fully in Japanese:

• 韓国のマナー (Korean Etiquette)
• ハンボクレンタル (Hanbok Experiences)
• ソウルの歴史 (A Quick History of Seoul)

The site chrome now speaks Japanese too

Until now, every translated article page still showed English menu labels and an English "Home" breadcrumb around genuinely Japanese content — a known gap we flagged a few updates back. That's fixed: the navigation bar, mobile menu, breadcrumbs, and sidebar labels (search, language picker, "keep planning," "share this guide") are now fully localized on every Japanese page, on top of the article content itself.

That's six full departments now translated into Japanese — Plan, Stay, Neighborhoods, Do, Food, and Culture — 27 Japanese pages live in total, with a properly localized reading experience around them.

Next up: Shopping is the last core visitor-facing department still English-only in Japanese, and we're also looking at bringing this same chrome localization to the other five languages.
