Public bathrooms
Public restrooms are widely available and generally clean, including inside every subway station — a genuinely underrated convenience compared to many major cities where public bathroom access is inconsistent. Department stores, large cafes, and convenience stores are all reliable fallback options if you're between subway stations.
Luggage storage
Coin lockers are available at most major subway stations and at both airports, useful for a same-day arrival/departure or for storing bags on a checkout day before a later flight. Larger stations near tourist areas (Seoul Station, Myeongdong, Hongik University Station) tend to have the most locker capacity.
Charging and WiFi on the go
Free public WiFi is widely available on the subway and in many public spaces (see our connectivity guide), and charging points are increasingly common in cafes and some subway stations, though not universal — a portable charger remains worth carrying for a full sightseeing day.
Water fountains
Free drinking water stations are available in most subway stations and many public buildings, worth using to cut down on bottled water purchases during a hot day of walking.
