What it actually is
Yeouido holds Korea's National Assembly, the headquarters of major broadcasters and financial firms, and a skyline dominated by corporate towers — including 63 Building, long one of the city's tallest structures. It's a working district first, but its riverside parks and a famous spring cherry blossom road make it worth a visit beyond business.
What to actually do here
- Yeouiseo-ro cherry blossom road — one of Seoul's most popular spring blossom spots, lined with trees along the road beside the National Assembly.
- Han River Park (Yeouido section) — a wide riverside park good for cycling, picnics, and evening walks, especially around sunset.
- IFC Mall and the 63 Building — indoor shopping and observation-deck options if the weather turns.
- Seoul International Fireworks Festival — a major annual fireworks event held over the river, one of the city's biggest single-night draws (check current dates before planning around it).
Should you stay here
Yeouido isn't a typical tourist base — it's quieter at night than Seoul's other central districts since much of it empties out after office hours. It's better as a half-day visit (cherry blossom season especially) than a place to base your whole trip.
